Dave Matthews Band - American Baby

Yes, you helped me

More than you know love

You helped me have a wider view than just the one ...here

You laughed because I loved avocados,  and you said, if you could bottle my laughter and sell it you would

my heart beat like a 1,000 wild ponies
         at
those words

It leapt..It swam oceans and it screamed at the top of the highest mountain
                                         I
                                       am
                                    Loved

You caressed my cheek..You swept the hair from my face with your soft vulgar, gentle, loving touch

You said my name in your sleep
      though
i
     never
told you
You taught me about Lawrence Ferlanghetti
and about all the beat neck poets

You taught me about Vietnam

But we were meant to be together only for a short time...

but it felt like I had known you a lifetime

You were meant to be at home with your love

Whom you never said one bad word about

How I loved you for that

I loved you the most for that
