Nine doves lighted in the yard today like angels. They were so beautiful..Grey with hints of black. They ate off the white stones I have out front , with the Blackbirds and the sparrows. These same Doves often Coo mournfully outside my kitchen window. Cardinals flitted in and out of the other birds as they ate. The Cardinals, being the most mannerly of all the birds, will often fly off when other birds come to feed and wait until they are gone before they feast.
I hear them in the trees whistling, "Purty, purty... as they wait.
These beautiful birds, with their blood red bodies and midnight black beaks stand out in the green of the trees so magnificently.
Every time I go outside lately I have began to close my eyes when I sit in my chair . That way I can really tune in to the individual bird sounds. The blackbirds have so many songs. They delight my heart ...
The Sparrows with their shy sweet ways and dust bathes make me laugh. Nature can cheer my heart quicker than anything. It soothes my troubled spirit and brings me a sense of closeness with God.
Wishing you all a great weekend.
xoxo Nita

We seem to be on the same page with the outdoors and the sounds of nature Nita, even across the miles as we are.:) I posted about this in my post this morning. It really does a soul good to sit quietly and drink in Gods splendor that is ours every day. We just need to get out there and enjoy. Love you girl!

Sorry that I haaven't been by much but it's not because you haven't been on my mind. Love imagining you sitting on the porch listening to the birds. Such a pleasant thought. Glad to hear about Elizabeth. I'll pray the doctors can find the cause so her healing can begin.
ReplyDeleteHi dear Nita, your post is very beautiful, and I can so related...I love God's creation, the birds are magnificent creatures....the Cardinals are one of my favorites...I have noticed many times how the male is so protective of his mate, and will even carry seed and place in the females mouth while she waits on a near by tree....it so blesses me to watch the birds and take in their many different songs...I pray all is well with you and your dear Elizabeth...
