"Grow old along with me! The best is yet to be, the last of life, for which the first was made. Our times are in his hand who saith, "A whole I planned, youth shows but half; Trust God: See all, nor be afraid!"
I have always loved this verse from Robert Browning to Elizabeth. It says so much! hugs Nita....
Jeannene: The antique ornaments in the jar I debated on using but decided not to because they are so fragile. Your welcome, I meant it. Have a great day. xoxo Nita
Bobbie: Thank you. I really love doing the still life collages. I would love putting together a book of them. You are such an encourager Bobbie, thanks again. xoxo nita
Donna: I love that too!! Have you ever heard Mary Chapin Carpenter's song about this poem? She starts out with that very line. There is something so romantic about growing old with someone. Each knowing the others faults and deepest secrets. I kept an obituary the other day from an old man who had just died this week, it was so lovingly written by his family that it made me cry. He had a life so well lived. In lieu of cards they asked that people go play catch with a child.Because that is what this man would have done. He and his wife had been married for 55 years. xoxo nita
What a beautiful haiku! I'm partial to Shakespeare's sonnets. by the way, please visit my blog - I've tagged you for 5 random things about yourself! :)
One of my favorite poems (if not THE favorite) is The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe... my dad introduced me to him when I was in fourth grade, I memorized this poem immediately, and quoted it often...
:-)
Love the picture, it should be a Christmas greeting card.
Pixie: I love Edgar Allen Poe. And the Raven is one of my favorites. I also love The story, The Tell Tell Heart. I love most of his stories. When I was a kid I watched Vincent Price all the time in Edgar's stories. Do you remember him? And thank you for what you said about the piture I took. xoxo Nita
I love beauty, whether it is in nature, literature or art. And I love music... My day feels incomplete if I haven't had a chance to listen to some good music..
I also love beautiful souls, and kind hearts.

Though I am surrounded by troubles, my God will preserve me against the anger of my enemies. He will clench His fist against my angry enemies! His Power will save me. The Lord will work out His plans for my life- for His faithful love endures forever.
