I have been filling the birdbath up about four times a day in this extreme heat for the birds and the squirrels. The water that splashes over , the mud dabbers come and drink, and then they take the mud for their nests.
The old Fir tree in the front yard gets soaked twice a day. After I water its branches the Monarches land and drink deeply for minutes at a time. I have seen a blue Dragonfly land and drink off the Fir tree as well.
The birds bathe, and then go eat the seed I have put out. I feel grateful to witness these little acts of life. Though small to some they are so meaningful to me. *Nita*

Nita,

Thanks for visiting the other day. Like you, I'm running around tending to the birds. They seem to be starving lately - probably due to the dry heat and fewer bugs.

I think I'll need to add another hummingbird feeder as they are slurping away!

Hi Nita,
Like Mary and you, I am keeping water out for the birds and the bugs.
It is a blessing to be able to watch these incredible critters.
You will get a great photo of your Monarch, I just know it!
Blessings to you and yours,
Sherry
