Good news for John (for all new readers John is my husband). He is getting surgery by early next week. He will be able to stay at the same hospital. They had talked about moving him back to SLU. But luckily he gets to stay at SSM. After a few days he may be moved to new hospital though closer to the next rehab (I will post his new address as soon as he moves). He will have to go to one more rehab to learn how to live at home. He has maxed out on all he can learn at this facility. The bedsore was examined yesterday and has shrunk some but it is still very deep. And still needs surgery.

He was very happy that I had asked my friends on my blog to pray for him. He extends his thanks to you all.
Hopefully by tomorrow I will be able to post something Christmasy. I want to post a picture of our tree. Elizabeth picked it out. She was going to get a pink one but they were out so she picked a white one. It is so pretty. We love it. Though we do have a small pink one for the kitchen table.

Thanks everybody for your wonderful responses, I appreciate them all so much. I am getting ready to go to the library and look into the book on tapes. I am going to get a list and take it to John and see which ones he would like. That was a great idea suggested by a few people.
Have a great night. ~Love Nita~

That is great news that he doesn't have to move to another hospital to have the surgery. Sounds like he is making progress. I am happy to hear that the audio book idea was a good one.

Can't wait to see your tree. Is John going to have a tree in his room?

You sound in better spirits today.

I am always thinking about you and John...thinking how you are so brave to face each new day together. You are special people to me.
I have a pink tree too. Actually it is Anna's tree. It is tall and slender and she puts all her flamingo ornaments on it and the antique pink ornament balls I have been finding for her.
Squeezy hugs,Amy

Patti: I think the audio books will help him alot. I am so happy he is not moving to a new hospital. My tree went up last night. It is little, only about 4 feet tall, but me and Elzabeth love it. We have not put ornaments on it yet, we are trying to decide what we want to use. I am going to put a little tree in John's room. My friend tonya got him a singing tree that is really cute. But I want to get him a real little tree. Maybe about a foot high. xoxo Nita

Shelley: I am so sorry to hear of this tragedy. If there is anything I can do tell me. And this last rehab will be the last stop before John comes home. We will be happy when he is home. We have both missed him so much. xoxo Nita

Dena: I am going to do a post very soon on the award you gave me, I haven't had a chance yet. But I feel honored that you thought of me friend. John is closer to coming home, which is very good. xoxo Nita

Lee: I wondered what happened to you, so happy you got everything fixed. xoxo Nita

I'm sorry I've been remiss for a few days, but I'm praying for you and your family, and lighting a candle as soon as I make it home.

I have been thinking of you and John a lot since your post about his needing surgery. I am glad that things are looking more positive. I have been scarce lately because I ahve been busy with ebaying ('tis the retail season!), but I lift you both up often. This is a rough Christmas for me too. (((hugs)))
