Special Request...

I have a special request. My daughter Elizabeth is having such a hard time over her Father's death. They were so close. He always called and talked to her every night before bed while he was in the hospital and rehabilation centers . You would never find a Father and daughter who was so much alike as these two. He always thought of his baby girl. She has cried herself to sleep every night since he has passed. I am requesting for cards to be sent to her. I hope I am not asking too much, but she needs to know people care about her right now. It would really make a difference.. Please e-mail me for my address if you would do this for her. If you don't want to, no worries.
For those who do send cards, your kindness will be remembered.
And please pray for Elizabeth... She needs prayer.

Nita,

My prayers are with both you and Elizabeth. I would love to send her a card. I cannot get the email to work so please just send it to HaleyAngel45@aol.com.

I lost my Dad in a plane crash when I was 4 1/2. I so missed having him in my life and any more time I could have had with him would have been so precious.

Here is a company that you and your readers may find helpful in this troubled time.

http://www.willowgreen.com/

Willowgreen is a wonderful company that specializes in publications and videos regarding dealing with grief. Everything they produce is topnotch, and they also sell a variety of helpful books done by others.

And, they have some beautiful, free e-cards. Just click on the link at the top of their homepage to find them.

The media list section of the website has some very comforting and beautiful DVDs in which the company owner has used his talents as a nature photographer to create visuals that can help people heal.

Nothing will ever be able to replace your husband, but you may find something at Willowgreen that will help you and/or Elizabeth work through your time of grief.

Do you have a DVD player? I'd be happy to pick out one of the programs that I've seen and order a copy for you. If not, I have some of them here in VHS format that I could share.

I've e-mailed you for your address for the card for Elizabeth.

I would love to send Elizabeth a card. I lost my daddy when I was 7 years old. I had to grow up without a Father and it is very hard. Maybe she could do some sort of a memorial for him.

I put together a memorial just not to long ago for my Dad. It is a Flag box and holds pictures of him as a young marine his honorable discharge from the Marine Corp and all of his medals and his marine corp ring along with the flag from his casket. I can look at this every day and remember my daddy. I was so young but do still remember so many little things.

Bless her heart. Give her hugs for me.

Nita - I am so very sorry to hear about your loss. My husband is my best friend also and I just can't imagine having to live life without him being here. However, he is 22 years my senior so I'm pretty sure I'll be spending some time here without him - unfortunatley. It has been so heartwrentching to read your posts and I commend you for being able to share such difficult feelings with us out here in the blogging world. I have only just read your posts but I would gladly send your daughter a card. I will probably be feeling just as horrible when my own dad passes. He and I are very close. You can email me at theknitwitch at gmail dot com.

Nita, I am so sad to read this news about John. And sorry that I have not been here in awhile. John fought such a long and hard battle but God had other plans for him. It is hard to be left behind, but I will remember you and Elizabeth in my prayers and ask God to bring you peace. Please send address to pecospearl(at)hotmail(dot)com.

Dear Nita,

I lost my only son when he was 11 years old. His sister, who was 16, was so lost. Everyone pays attention to the mom or the dad, but no one ever seems to care about the child. Please email me your address and I would be honored to send your Elizabeth a card to show her how much I care.

Nita, I remember the day we went to pick my Father's headstone. It has been 10 months now since his death. For me it was the day that it had been placed and we were to go see it for the first time. It was very hard for me, it was placed shortly before what would have been his birthday.
