" For I know the plans I have for you, " declares the Lord, " plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Jeremiah 29:11

I had a dear friend named Maija Lepore send me a book today in the mail. The title is, Grieving the Loss of a Loved One by Kathe Wunnenberg.
The first page I opened was in the middle, and this scripture was the header for the page. I felt such a sense of peace come over me. This is a scripture the Lord has given me my whole life through other people. Whenever something has went wrong in my life someone has sent me a card with this scripture on it.
I don't believe in coincidences. I thank God for comforting me through others.
I want to encourage anyone today who is grieving like I am. Know you are not alone.

I made myself get up today and get a shower. I made myself go to the store. I wanted to run out of the store when I saw an old friend who began to cry when she saw me. I did not run, I comforted her.
She is elderly and could not make the wake or the funeral. I understood completely.
Isn't this what life is about though? We have to reach out to others in our pain and help them if we can.
I want to say to all of you who have left comments, sent cards, called me. Thank you. You may have sorrows I don't even know about. Thank you for your kindness to me in my sorrow.

Dear Nita,

This is a scripture I have clung to many times and it is such a gift of God's promise. And it seems to be one He wants you to cling to in your life. He is so good in using others to comfort. What a gracious heart you have to comfort the lady in the store. We are the body of Christ here on this earth and He uses us to bless others. You are a blessing to me and I am praying for you daily, sweet friend. I pray gentle and beautiful days for you during this time of sadness. Beauty is all around you and from what I have read about you here, you sure know how to make the most of the beauty in your life. I admire this so much about you. You are loved and will never be alone Nita.

Beauty and Blessings,
Laurie in Ca.

We all bear our crosses, Nita, some of them are small and some of them are huge, sometimes they are not visible. But the human mind can ultimately endure a lot and you have to trust in that. You carry the burden that you can handle on any given day. When it becomes too much, you must shut yourself off from it and find a safe place and nurture yourself and not think of other people's comfort. Comfort yourself first. Think of the fact that John is free of his burden and that his soul is at peace. You are mourning the missing of him and that will get better with time, I promise.

Laurie: When she was crying I wanted to cry so bad. I didn't want to break down in the store because I knew if I started to cry I didn't know if I would be able to stop, and Elizabeth would have cried too.
I loved this old friend.. She has a kind heart and she loved John.
Thank you for your words to me.. They help me. love nita

Irene: God does help us endure... that is very true. I will take the time for grieving because it is a process we all have to go through. It is never easy to lose the one you love, i am devastated. I just can't believe he is gone from me. I layed on the floor yesterday and cried myself to sleep and woke up 3 hours later, alone. It is so hard..

Many a questioning, many a fear,
Many a doubt hath its quieting here.
Moment by moment, let down from heaven,
Time, opportunity, and guidance are given.
Fear not tomorrows, child of the King,
Trust them with Jesus, do the next thing.

When I read that the scripture you read has come to you over and over in your life I feel that it is the Lord's way of giving you a special word to encourage you and to lift you up cause He knows your pain and feels your saddness....Like He has selected a special passage from His word to give to you personally. xxoo That song by Third Day is the one I have been playing for you every day to try to lift you up in song and prayer....it says it all so well...

Dear Sweet Nita
I am so sorry that you have to carry such a huge cross. Sometimes it seems so unfair that other peoples crosses seem so small and others have huge heavy burdens to carry. A verse that might help you and your daughter....
Psalms 34 18-19.
I wish I could be there to hug you both. I would love to send a card. I am so glad that you came forth and asked for help. That is what the body of Christ is for. We are here for you even if you feel you can't pray....we are praying for you. I am praying that you and your daughter will start waking up everyday and finding something beautiful in your life. Think about your husbands life here one earth. Think about lives he touched, maybe with just that lovely smile you talk about. Who knows how many lives he touched during his time here on earth. Most of all I am praying that God will just wrap you in his huge arms so you can feel the love that can never be taken away and give you peace.
xoxo

Dear Nita,

I've only recently found your blog and can't tell you how very sorry I am about this tremendous loss in your life. You are doing so well and I respect you so much for putting the welfare of others first. You will find that offering gifts of encouragement will not only help others in their great time of need, but it will help you more. I've lost my brother, mother, and son in different ways and the grief just hurts and hurts. Time has helped, but I really believe taking myself out of my own pain has helped more. I will be praying for you and most especially for Elizabeth.
