The Rose...

Bette Midler - The Rose
This is lyrics from http://www.lyrics007.com/
Some say love it is a river
that drowns the tender reed
Some say love it is a razor
that leaves your soul to bleed

Some say love it is a hunger
an endless aching need
I say love it is a flower
and you it's only seed

It's the heart afraid of breaking
that never learns to dance
It's the dream afraid of waking that never takes the chance
It's the one who won't be taken
who cannot seem to give
and the soul afraid of dying that never learns to live

When the night has been too lonely
and the road has been too long
and you think that love is only
for the lucky and the strong
Just remember in the winter far beneath the bitter snows
lies the seed
that with the sun's love
in the spring
becomes the rose"

Tonight if you are afraid of taking a chance of making your dreams come true, don't be. Make your dreams come true. You can do it. Start by making a plan.
If you are afraid of loving someone, don't be. It is better to have loved than never to have loved at all, even if you get hurt. Take the chance.

Learn to dance even if you look foolish, it is fun.
Stop being afraid to die so you can learn to live.

Be encouraged tonight...
Sending love to you all..

Kimberly: I have always loved that song too. We sang it at school when I was 13. Not long after my sister was killed in a car accident. It was hard not to break down while singing.
I could see my Mom in the audience crying. It broke my heart.
But, after it was over she said she loved that song because it reminded her of how we should live life. And it reminded her of Jody..
It reminds me to love, even when I hurt so bad that I feel like I am dying.
Love You, Nita

Hi Nita, love the words to that song. Roses must be the thing of the moment because I've just started a whole new blog with pictures of them that I took at the Chelsea Flower Show yesterday.

This song breaks my heart every time I hear it. It is so beautiful. Your reflections in your words are true and so encouraging Nita. You have such a way with words from your heart. I love you and think of you daily, praying for you to find joy in the little things around you. Your roses are awesome. Thank you for the reminder to keep on dreaming. Sometimes I forget and I don't want to forget. Love your heart girl and love you too.

dabrah: The words are so powerful to that song. They have always reached me. Roses are one of my very favorite flowers, John's too.
We both loved climbing roses and wanted a shed with roses covering it.
I guess I am going to do that now.
I would love to check out your new site with the rose pictures.
