Yesterday I poured a gallon of water on my concrete drive. It puddled up rather quickly, and as it did, I began to see the reflection of the maple trees that hang over the drive in it. Then suddenly the sun showered bright rays through the trees in the reflection.

I walked back to the porch, and as I did a blackbird came and dropped a piece of dog food into the puddle. He softened it for a minute then gobbled it up and flew off. After he left, some sparrows came and took swift sips from it. Chirping cheerfully together as they did.

Amazing how one simple act can be transformed into something magic.

And just think Nita, you were actually the magician who brought it all together! Embrace it!

Isn't it great how all of Gods creation appreciates and responds to His hands through us? I am sitting here listening to a momma bird in a nest outside the window in the bamboo, talking to her babies. They sip water out of the fountains and eat in the feeders. I guess we have that mothering instinct for all things:) Love you girl.

What a wonderful story shared. I love to watch the birds gather after I water the lawn...they're always hopeful for a treat. It's nice to see when our actions go hand in hand with nature's.

Sweet post.

You were part of the magic of nature. How special was that? I bet those birds were very grateful.

I love the small, simple things. You're right, they are magical. All we have to do is slow down a little and really see!

Nita,

My gift of linens and things came today and I want to thank you so much. I have always wanted to own linens like these ever since I was a small girl. We couldn't afford them back then. They are ironed and gracing my dining room table and sideboard with their charm. I just love them Nita. I feel like a princess and they will remind me to think of you and pray all the time for you my sweet friend. I'll be planting the seeds today with my grandson and I treasure the other "tidbits" too. I love you.

This magic happens all the time, but most don't notice. Truly observing it happen is the magic.
