A dear friend of our family has requested prayer for her Mother. She was diagnosed with having several brain tumors yesterday. They thought it was only one..Then discovered it was many more.

They are not sure if they are cancerous yet. Judy is Christanna's Mother. Please say a pray for them. Christanna is really torn up by this..

These are some photos I have taken over the last few months. I have been experimenting with photo shop and ran these through tonight.
The first shot is my brother Buddy's dog Rosie. Buddy loved Rosie..He passed away 8 years ago. My sister-in-law said Rosie looked for Buddy for years.

The second photo is my Mom's clematis..It is so beautiful when it blooms it takes my breath away..It is a wild rambling vine that has taken over the corner of her fence. Wrapping itself around it like a lover wraps herself around the one she loves.
Third photo: Blackbird at park getting ready to take a bath..He was a grouchy little bird. He looked at me so mean..He changed his tune when I gave him my fries.

4th photo: Birdhouse that lives on the clay pots. It has actually taken on a life all its own ..Housing spiders instead of birds. Just harmless ones that spin webs in early morning light...

5 th photo: These are the stone steps that I got all by myself from a junk yard when I was 29. I use to have a 1972 Buick Le Sabre with a 455, it had a trunk that would house a small village. I put about 10 of those stones in at a time. You should have seen me crossing the railroad tracks in that car when I had the stones in the trunk.. it was hilarious. I could have ruined the shocks on my car with that big of a load. The next time I went there I only loaded 5 at a time. I made a sidewalk with these while John was at work. He was so impressed when he came home and found a walk there leading to the back yard..

6th picture: Birds chatting on a wire.. I watched these birds one day while I was at Mom's house. They just sat there and chatted for about 15 minutes. It was really neat. I was amazed at their interaction..

Spirit of Peace...

This is a photo collage I put together last week. I used a rusty frame that my Mom gave me, and put the other elements between it. I layed it against some stones i have near the gate. I then ran it through photo shop to enhance it. I titled it, "Spirit of Peace"
If you have peace you can handle what comes along in life..To me that is important.

I took these photos this weekend. It felt good to be outside.

The thistle down the road hasn't bloomed in five years, and I have waited every Summer to see if it will.

Some of it was just getting ready to bloom and they sprayed it with weed killer. I was so bummed out.

But I got lucky and and got a few shots of some purple thistle blooming on the side of a country road.

I know yellow birds flock to thistle, but all I saw was bees yesterday.
Sometimes my heart aches for the beauty of the country. It makes me want to move there so bad. Have a little farm and raise sheep and have a pet cow named Marta.







I got a few shots of skeletal Queen Anne's Lace.

They have turned from pure white to creamy white and warm brown.









Did you know that there are abandoned roads? Just like abandoned houses they have stories to tell.

Of how girls from long ago walked barefoot down them, with the dust puffing through their bare toes with each step they took.

Boys with cane poles walking to the creek to go fishing..

Sorrows and happiness...Walked on them like lines on old faces.












The moon was out early last night. I caught it between the power lines with a half smile on its face.

The yellow roses in my backyard took one more glorious turn in blooming. They like to make a spectacle of themselves. Huge yellow blooms against the evening sky..

I found this feather in a little puddle in front of my house. It felt like a gift..

And a brown Oak leaf on my stone sidewalk in the side yard.

Today I thought about all the people I have met through blogging. I thought about All the ones who have loved me and had faith in me. Those who have helped me by being my friend after losing John. There have been many days after his death that I wanted to give up but then someone would send me an e-mail or a card in the mail and tell me they were thinking of me. Or they would leave me a comment.

That made the difference in giving up or holding on for another day.

And so many of you have appreciated and encouraged my writing and my photography and my attempts at making art.You will never know how much that means to me.


I never knew that people, I have never met in person could mean so much to me. But you all do.

I have been given awards all Summer that I have not posted. And I am really sorry about that. I have always felt a little funny about awards..But I have appreciated every single one I have been given. And to all of you who awarded these to me thank you! If you are not mentioned please leave a comment and I will correct it.

I got home today and had received an award from Dena from Swaddle Cottage. A beautiful art award. Dena gives of herself and she heeds Gods voice. She is a lovely woman who decorates her home like nobodies business.

And last week Colette from, A Bird in Hand gave me, I Love your Blog Award.

Colette, has helped me so much after losing John. She, also lost her husband John many years ago. She is such a beautiful soul. And she never runs out of ideas on making things. I want to be like her. And I consider her one of my mentors.

Patti, from Treasure Barn Blog awarded me with a Brillante Weblog award in July and Maija from Maigigrl.Madness awarded me with the same award about the same time as Patti. Patti has taken off in the art community since I first met her. She does amazing collages..And please say a prayer for Patti's son. He has had health problems. She would appreciate it so much.

Maija, is an amazing artist . She is getting ready to go to Paris! Isn't that cool? She has lost a ton of weight this past year and has a journal about it on her site. She also has been there for me after John's death. She lost her Mom this past year and it has been really hard on her. Maybe you could leave her a word of encouragement..

To all those who follow my site thank you for your words, thoughts, e-mails and phone calls.
