The Secret Garden

One of my favorite books has always been , The Secret Garden, by Frances Hodgson Burnett.

I have been a gardener since I was 20 years old. I learned from my Mom and Grandparents to love gardening. It has helped me through many hard times. I am going to look for some amaryllis bulbs this week for the kitchen window. And some paper white bulbs to start in October.

I am going to start Pansy seeds in October too. I have already started plans for the garden next summer. I have always wanted a secret garden, and I am planning one. I have been collecting seeds this summer for next year and I keep them in the fridge.

There is some wrought iron fence at a junkyard down the road that i would like to purchase for the front yard. I have a huge skeleton key that reminds me of the key to open the door to the secret garden. I could incorporate that in the fence. I would like to have a privacy fence that would surround the backyard, and plant ivy to cover the fences. I think it will happen. *nita*

Nita that sounds like such a lovely idea, especially with that old iron fencing.

Just wanted to stop by and say that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Sending lots of good, healing energy to your husband. :)
