peace

There is no quiet place in your cities, no place to hear the leaves of Spring or the rustle of insects wings....
The Indians prefer the soft sound of the wind darting over the face of the pond, the smell of the wind cleansed by a midday rain, or scented with pinon pine.
The air is precious to the Red Man, for all things share the same breath- the animals, the trees, the man. Like a man who has been dying for many days, a man in your city is numb to the stench.
Chief Seattle

I love this , I think it shows us how true this is now. We basically have no place left on earth that isn't polluted. I took this picture a few weeks ago . I love to hear quiet sounds. I like simple things, a walk in the woods , looking for unusual rocks. Looking for birds and taking good pictures. What do you like?

After long summers with the kids, the first day of school I go back to bed after everyone is in their place in their new classes. I lay in bed and listen to the silence. It is so loud it almost hurts my ears. I love it. Some mornings throughout the school year I do this and just revel in the peace. Of course I love the sound of the kids in the house, and playing, etc. But I have always loved quiet, too. You don't get a lot of that with 3 kids in the house.

I love to go in to my office after my husband goes to bed and hear the quiet. I love my home and I love my three sons and my grandchildren. I especially love it when my 100 lb dog gets up on the sofa with me and puts his head on my lap and goes to sleep. That is just so peaceful!

What gorgeous peaceful photo! Is this near your home?

I love the sound of spring peepers at night in the spring, and crickets in the fall. I love the honks of the geese, so high in the sky, on their way south. I love the snores of my children. I love the mommmy whinnies of the mares when they call to their foals. I love the hush of the early mornings.
