John...

{For new readers John is my husband}

I went and seen John today. He got his new wheelchair a few weeks ago and he loves it. It is a really neat chair! It can lift him up to eye level with people.
It can go about 6 miles an hour. It also can go through trails in the woods. The new facility is the best place he has been to yet. I still go about 3- 4 times per week . Last week I only got to go once because my van was broke down.
John is learning even more ways to be independent at home. He is doing therapy everyday. His bedsore is gone completely! The surgery was a complete success on helping it get healed. He had another small one and it is gone too.
I am really proud of his strength and courage through all of this. He has fought tooth and nail just to get where he is now. He will still need help everyday to get in and out of his chair and into the shower. But he has made much progress.
He still does not have alot of upper body strength either. But we are hoping maybe that he will get stronger.
Thanks to everyone who has continually prayed for John and Elizabeth and me. Your prayers are much appreciated.
~Nita~

What a great picture of John, now I know who I am praying for:) It sounds like he is making great and steady progress and I know you are thankful. I pray the next 4 to 6 months brings great progress in upper body strength and his confidence. Hope is such a good thing to keep your spirits up. I will continue praying for him to be back home with you when it is the perfect time and for you to be able to have the house "access" ready.

I am so glad to hear of Johns progress. He looks pretty happy in this picture.

You are such a strong family and you will make it through this together with God Blessing.

It has been a rough road but it looks like you have been over some of the big bumps and now maybe it will be a smoother ride.

John looks fabulous, Nita! When do you expect him home? Have you had to renovate?

I read back about Elizabeth's birthday - I am so happy she had such a great day -- more importantly, I am glad she has a great MOM to make it so special.

blessings & prayers,
kathy

Can you post John's current address pls? Does he like to read?

Patti: He was happy in that picture. We ahd taken him some presents that he loved. Yesterday I took him a present for Valentines Day because I could not wait. He loves stuffed animals!
In fact when he was first hurt I cried so much because he looked so pitiful holding his stuffed animal while he was sleeping. He is just tender hearted and it comforted him.
I didn't think I would ever quit crying. But he is so much better. There are times it is still sad.
Thanks for your prayers Patti. love Nita
