I took this photo a few weeks ago. And it is where I am at today, runny mascara and red nose. I am trying so hard to be positive but I have been so down the last 2 days. I am overwhelmed. ~nita~

Nita, you have every right to feel the way you do. You don't know what the future holds. You are scared, for you, your husband, your family. You are so positive, I know you can make it through this.. God does not give us more than we can handle....my thoughts are with you and your family......

Hebrews 12:3, "Think of Him and consider Him so that you may not grow weary and faint in your mind."

It is so easy to glibly speak positive words in an attempt to cheer one up. Your battle is now seen. Your metamorphosis is the daily renewing of yourself. For YOURSELF. I really wish I could be there to help you through this, Nita.
Arms around you; holding up your arms much as Aaron did for Moses.
Prayers said for you and John.

When I lost my parents I felt horrible. Constant caretaker, watcher of all things in their lives. It was overwhelming to say the least. Crying, depression, you name it. But everyday I got up, put one foot in front of the other and just, knew. There was just me...for two people I'd do anything to have back, I just..did it, day after day, year after year. One night, I was on the patio with a coffee, trying to get some quiet time, when I looked up into the dark sky, and saw the most beautiful star I'd ever seen in my life. Huge, sparkly...and for some reason I knew I was not alone...really knew it. I promised I wouldn't let Him down. Drank the rest of the coffee, put a smile on my face, and moved on. Thats been 6 yrs ago now. You'll see "your" star. I promise! Lots of hugs, love and light coming your way sweetie.

Some years ago I started noticing cardinals at the most odd moments... as I was going into the courthouse in the middle of custody issues, when I looked out the window of the counselors office as he sat talking alone with my 4 year old son... seemed to be at the times I was feeling the most vulnerable and fearful. I began to pray each time I saw a cardinal and thank God for the reminder that He's always there. He didn't leave me to sit alone in the waiting room of that counselor's office. He didn't leave me when my oldest son nearly died. He didn't leave me when I had home nurses, physical therapists, tutors and daycare children in and out of my home everyday for a year. There were cardinals all the time! I've come to have immediate peace when I see a cardinal now because to me it's an outward reminder of God's continual presence. Start looking for that thing to be your cardinal. I assure you, God's hand is holding you and John and your family! I have to remind myself sometimes... "Think on these things..." Praying blessings...Polly

As Amy said - it's OK to cry - in fact it's good for you to cry and get those feelings out. Pound a pillow, do whatever you need to get your feelings out and then draw a deep breath and know tomorrow will be different. Not necessarily better but there is always that hope. And if not tomorrow then the next day. ((((((Nita))))))))))))))

Sometimes we can't see anything good because we get overwhelmed with sadness and hopelessness. The good will prevail and if you read this now, I'll bet your day is better. At least I wish that for you.

I'm keeping you in my prayers, Nita, that a litle something uplifts you from despair. Have your hugged a puppy or kitten lately?

Big Hugs to you,
Mary

Oh darling pet, just let it gooooo when it comes like a wave...and by that I mean let it run it's course. then you find strength at the end of each and every time of grieving. You are doing really, really better than you know, and I am happy that you stay in touch.
