Love Is the Answer...

For so long I have been a broken person. I had things happen to me as a child that effected my whole life. But I have had people reach out to me in love, and that has helped to heal my wounds. John was the greatest healer of wounds. He gave me something I had never had before. Someone who truly listened to me when I talked. That is the single most important thing you can have in this life, someone who listens, truly listens.

I am reaching out to you today to say, "Love is the Answer." It is hard to love others when they have hurt us. But I have realized something, We can love them and forgive them, but we don't have to be around them. Especially if they continue with their destructive behavior.

If they appear to have changed, and you give them another chance and they hurt you again, you may have to distance yourself.

But forgive, for if we forgive we are released from the prison that holds us captive. And, we don't have to be a door mat to be forgiving and loving.

Today's song, Love is the Answer

No one is you ...& that's your power said...

That is so true nita ,and it is no good not to forgive. As it does mean that we are holding on to it still. If we dont forgive it does mean we havent moved on from whatever it was causing us to hold on to not forgiving
hope that makes sense, the way I have written it
You take care

You are so right. Forgiving doesn't mean we approve of being hurt; it means acknowledging what happened and letting go. Clinging onto our wounds, especially the childhood ones, does us no good. It's difficult because childhood is what forms us as adults and we have to be strong and move beyond that. With love. xoxoxo

Nita, This reminded me of my "grudge" I had with my father. You are so right...it is like a prison. Once I released the grudge and forgave him it truly was a breath of fresh air.

It is so nice to have someone really listen to you. I personally have problems with most of my friends that way. They want to talk but don't want to really listen.

I have been blessed with you as a friend that does listen. Thanks for that.

Forgiveness is so important. I have had some issues with my brother that I thought I could not forgive but I did and I feel a peace now that I didn't before.

You are such a wise women and I thank you. You amaze me with the way you reach out to others.

Love You my friend
hugs

Nita,
this was a post that I think we all needed to read...I am very bad at holding a grudge..I can drag up a hurt that happened 30 years ago and remind someone of what they did to hurt my feelings..
I am really working on loving the people who have hurt me...
thank you so much for this post...

P.S.
How is Elizabeth doing...I continue to pray for you both every day!!!
